Our bodies were designed to move

Problem is, we're sitting more than ever, often focused on screens for long periods of time at work and home. The resulting weakness, inflexibility, injury and pain can stop us from participating fully in life to the fullest.

The challenge

How to get moving in the most effective and safest way, especially if you're recovering from an injury, surgery, giving birth or suffering from non- specific back, shoulder or foot pain.

What is Pilates?

Pilates uses a series of precise movements and specially designed equipment to improve flexibility and strength while heightening awareness of your muscle function and control.

At New Strength Pilates

-  We start where you are and tailor workouts to accommodate your unique body and movement challenges
-  We will work with your medical professional to help you achieve your health and wellness goals

Typically you can expect:

- development of strong core muscles
- increased flexibility
- improved postural alignment
- better balance, stability and coordination

- improved circulation
- greater mental clarity
- increased sense of well-being

                   Thomas Sewell

Thomas is a personal trainer and strengthen coach since 2008. His interest in fitness started as a chubby 8 year old when he saw the movie predator with Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was unlike anything he had ever seen before and remembers asking his father what he could do to look like him. He told him to lift weights! So he saved up every last penny for weeks just to be able to buy his first set of dumbbells. playing around with a 5lb and 10lb dumbbell and doing push ups and sit ups in his room is where it all started!
He was introduced to athletics in 7th grade and finally had access to a fully equipped weight room. He had truly found something he loved and was good at.
Soon after high school he lost his father much in part to an unhealthy lifestyle. The very next morning, he woke up suddenly at 5am, and was restless.  The only thing he could think to do was go for a jog and couldn’t believe how much better it made him feel. From then on, he turned to fitness as a way to cope and began to study and learn as much about it as possible. He ended up dropping over 60 lbs in the next few months and became a strict student of exercise and nutrition. He was obsessed from there and became a certified personal trainer at 18. He did this for a little over a year and then decided to take his education further.  He attended Texas State University where he received his BA in Exercise sports science with a pre emphasis in physical therapy in 2014.
After college,  he worked for a physical therapist for a while and  learned first hand how important strength training is for overall health! So he set out on his own fitness career with the mission of changing peoples lives through a scientific yet simplistic approach to training, utilizing his years of experience and application! Whatever your fitness goal may be, he can get you there efficiently and safely! He works with our clients on weight training for Osteoporosis.
